Restoration of an Ancient Frame
The moment the frame arrived in my workshop, it had numerous cracks and large gaps.
The first phase was to clean it, followed by the filling of the gaps with rabbit glue and Bologna plaster. The gilding compensation operation was very challenging: on the Bologna chalk I spread a layer of Armenian bolus and then I applied the 24 carat gold leaf. Once the gold was fixed, I proceeded with the burnishing with agate stone and then I aged the new parts with a coating as imitation of the original surface.
Restoration of paintings on the wall and frescoes, restoration of paintings on canvas and antique frames, restoration of statues and antique furniture are the areas of restoration to which I have been dedicating my work with passion and commitment for years. Contact me for a tailor-made quote.
